Rotate PDF

Fix sideways, upside-down, or wrongly oriented PDF pages directly in your browser. Click pages to rotate them in 90° steps, use quick controls when every page needs the same fix, then save the corrected PDF locally. Everything runs on your device with no uploads, no accounts, no server storage.

Input: PDF (.pdf)
Output: Rotated PDF
All processing happens directly on your device

Good to know

This tool changes page rotation, not page content. It is designed to fix pages that are turned the wrong way inside the PDF. It does not reorder pages, delete pages, or straighten small scan skew — it only updates the page angle in 90° steps.

  • Input: PDF files (.pdf).
  • Output: One corrected .pdf file with updated page rotation.
  • Per-page control: click individual pages until they face the right way.
  • Quick actions: reset all rotations or rotate all pages left, right, or 180° at once.
  • Rotation scope: best for sideways or upside-down pages, not fine-angle scan correction.
  • Privacy: your PDFs never leave your device, nothing is uploaded to FileYoga servers.

How PDF rotation works

Rotate PDF lets you correct page orientation inside a PDF by turning selected pages in 90° steps until they face the right way. The process runs locally in your browser, so your file stays on your device from start to finish.

When to use this tool

Use this tool when a PDF is readable in general, but some pages are facing the wrong direction. It is especially useful for scans, forms, reports, contracts, and camera-captured PDFs with mixed page orientation.

  • Fix scanned pages that came in sideways.
  • Turn upside-down pages back to normal.
  • Correct mixed-orientation reports, forms, or exported PDFs.
  • Make a PDF easier to read, print, review, or share.

Need to do more cleanup after fixing page orientation?
Rearrange the document with a PDF page reordering tool, remove unwanted sheets with a PDF page deletion tool, or reduce file size afterward using a PDF compression tool.

Step-by-step: rotate pages in a PDF

Fixing PDF page rotation takes just a few steps:

  • Add your PDF. Drag and drop a file into the box above, or click to choose from your device.
  • Review page thumbnails. Check which pages are sideways or upside down.
  • Click pages to rotate them. Each click rotates the page 90° clockwise.
  • Rotate PDF. Click Rotate PDF. The tool rebuilds the corrected PDF locally in your browser.
  • Save the result. Download the fixed PDF to your device.

How page angles work

Each click rotates the selected page by 90° clockwise. Pages cycle through these rotation states in order:

  • Normal (0°)
  • Right (90° clockwise)
  • 180°
  • Left (270° clockwise)
  • Normal again

This is ideal for pages that are sideways or upside down. It does not fix slight tilt, skew, or perspective problems from poor scanning.

Privacy, limits and how this tool treats your files

FileYoga is built around a simple rule: your files stay with you. PDF rotation runs locally in your browser, so your PDFs are never uploaded to FileYoga servers.

Local-only processing

The rotation happens in your browser on your device. Your file is not uploaded, and the output PDF is generated on your side.

No hidden copies

When you clear the file or close the tab, the tool stops using your PDF and does not save copies on a server.

No artificial limits

No paywalls or quotas. The only limits come from your device’s memory and your browser.

No account required

Use the tool without signing up. Open the page, rotate your PDF, save the result, and leave when you are done.

If you are working with private documents, this setup means you keep control from start to finish.

Tips for best results

  • Let page thumbnails finish loading before making many changes on large PDFs.
  • Use rotate-all shortcuts when every page has the same wrong orientation.
  • Use Reset all rotations if you want to start over quickly.
  • Open the saved PDF afterward to confirm every page now reads correctly.
  • If the file stays large after rotation, run it through Compressing PDF.
  • If the issue is page order rather than page direction, use Reorder PDF pages instead.

Troubleshooting

  • Rotate PDF does nothing: add 1 PDF file first, then click Rotate PDF after choosing your page rotations.
  • Page thumbnails are slow: large or image-heavy PDFs can take longer to render in the browser.
  • The tool feels slow or freezes: close heavy tabs or try a smaller PDF first.
  • The PDF will not load: the file may be damaged, encrypted, or unusually complex — re-save it in a desktop PDF app and try again.
  • The file is still too large afterward: use PDF Compressor after rotation.
  • Some content looks different in the output: complex PDFs with unusual fonts, layers, forms, or interactive elements may need a quick review after rotation.
  • The page is still not straight: this tool rotates in 90° steps only and does not fix slight scan skew or perspective distortion.
