ZIP multiple files

Select many files and pack them into a single ZIP you can send, store or back up. Everything runs in your browser, with no uploads or accounts.

Input: One or more files from your device
Output: Standard .zip file, ready for email, cloud drives or backups
All compression happens directly on your device

Good to know

This tool is made for everyday file bundles: project assets, photo selections, class handouts or any mix of files you want to send or store together.

  • You can drag and drop files from your desktop or use the “Choose files” button to pick them from your device.
  • Mixed file types are fine — documents, images, audio and more can all go into the same ZIP archive.
  • Very large selections or thousands of small files may take longer to compress, especially on older devices. Extremely large jobs may hit browser memory limits.
  • This tool creates standard ZIP archives but does not add password encryption.

How ZIP multiple files compression works

ZIP Multiple Files bundles a selection of files into a single .zip archive directly in your browser. It’s a fast way to share a mixed set of documents, images, or assets as one download — with no uploads.

When you add files, your browser reads them locally and streams them into the ZIP as it’s built. There are no server transfers: FileYoga never receives your files or the finished archive. Very large selections can be limited by your browser’s memory and performance.

When to use this tool

Use ZIP Multiple Files when you want to keep a group of files together in one tidy package:

  • Sending multiple attachments as one ZIP instead of many separate files
  • Bundling project assets (docs + images + audio) for a teammate or client
  • Sharing a selection of photos without creating a whole folder ZIP
  • Archiving a set of files before uploading to a drive

Step-by-step: from files to ZIP

Creating a ZIP takes just a few steps:

  • Pick your files. Click the tool area and choose a file, or drag and drop files from your desktop into the box.
  • Review what’s included. Each file appears in the list with its name, file count and total size so you can see what will be zipped.
  • Choose your settings. Adjust the compression level and decide whether to keep subfolders and paths or flatten everything into one level.
  • Compress to ZIP. Click Compress to ZIP. Your browser compresses each file on your device without uploading the contents.
  • Save your ZIP files. Save ZIPs one by one, or use Save all ZIP files to download every completed archive in a few clicks.

Privacy, limits and how this tool treats your files

FileYoga is built around a simple rule: your files stay with you. ZIP Multiple Files follows that rule closely.

Local-only zipping

Your files are read and compressed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to FileYoga servers.

No hidden copies

When you clear the list or close the tab, the tool stops using your files and does not store them online.

No artificial limits

No paywalls or quotas. Practical limits come from your device’s memory and your browser.

No account required

Open the page, create your ZIP, download it, and leave — no sign-up needed.

Key limitations: very large file selections can exceed browser memory, this tool does not add password encryption, and folder-path preservation depends on what your browser provides when selecting/dragging files.

Picking a compression level

Compression is a trade-off between speed and ZIP size. Higher compression can reduce size but may take longer, especially with many small files.

Faster ZIP 75–80

Best when you care more about speed than the smallest possible size. Good for huge batches on slower machines.

Balanced ≈ 85 (default)

A solid everyday setting that keeps ZIP creation snappy while still trimming size where possible.

Smallest ZIP 95–100

Aims for the smallest ZIP size. Can be slower on large batches, especially with many small files.

Folder structure and file paths

The “Keep subfolders and paths” option affects how paths are stored when your browser provides them.

  • Enabled: If your file selection includes relative paths, the ZIP will mirror them.
  • Disabled: Files are stored as a flat list inside the ZIP (same folder level).

Note: when you pick files individually, some browsers don’t provide folder paths at all — in that case, the ZIP will be flat either way. If you need guaranteed folder structure, use Folder to ZIP.

Tips for best results

  • For huge selections, start with a lower compression level to reduce memory pressure.
  • Keep the browser tab open during compression — closing it will interrupt the ZIP build.
  • If you need folder structure preserved, prefer zipping the entire folder using Folder to ZIP.
  • Avoid extremely long file names/paths when possible to reduce compatibility issues.
  • Make sure you have enough free disk space to download the finished ZIP.

Troubleshooting

  • The tab freezes or gets very slow: you may have selected too many files or very large files. Try a smaller batch or lower compression level.
  • The ZIP is missing some files: retry with fewer files, and ensure none are locked by another app.
  • The ZIP won’t open after download: re-run compression and ensure the download completed; try smaller batches for very large jobs.
